My name is Patches and I was rescued from an animal shelter. Now I share home with a couple of humans. My primary caregiver is Missus Chica. She calls me her muse, and I call her when I’m ready for fresh food and a belly rub. When she isn’t rubbing my belly she’s rubbing Mister Hombre’s back, his arms, or she’s rubbing against his face. The male is pretty cool for a species as ridiculous as humans. He scratches my ears, spins me on a bar stool, and plays hide and seek. I credit my superior manipulation skills for domesticating these humans so quickly.

I also share the premises with Dirty Girl. She’s more youthful, more energetic, more vocal, and…. more aggravating than political pundits. But, sometimes it’s nice to have an extra warm body to spoon. She’s very agile, a born hunter. She sneaks outside to stalk lizards, birds, and acorns. She’s impulsive and passionate, whereas I am more pensive and philosophical.

When I ‘m not inspiring the Missus Chica, I pass the time laying around looking seductive, grazing in the chow line, and laying in sunny spots. Don’t be misled by my handsome tuxedo, I may appear cute and ornamental, but I’m not lacking in brains or opinions….
