My name is Patches and I have come to blog. I am an altered, de-clawed, male tuxedo cat. I was born around November 1997. My first human relationship was disappointing. I gave that bitch three and a half years of my loving companionship and she and she committed the second worst act of betrayal (the first being neutering and de-clawing) that any faithless partner can…she took me to the county animal shelter because she “was bored with me”. Can you believe that crap? But, noooooo I’m not bitter!
In spite of my former mistress’s insensitive and abrupt dismissal, I was fortunate that she left me at a no-kill shelter. There, I spent three months confined to a small cage to be rescued by companions who appreciate my particular flavor of cat-ness. My new people saw my photo at petfinder. After they saw my handsome mug they knew that they had to have me. After a rigorous background check, they brought me to my new home.
Since that fateful day, I have been spoiled beyond my wildest fantasies. Now, I am unfit to interact in polite society and am guilty of not playing well with others. I share my home with the big guy who likes to rough-house, the short chick who feeds and coddles me, and most recently with Dirty Girl, my litter-mate, six years my junior.
Please be patient with the site’s progress, I am new to the whole blogging thing….so you may suffer while I work on my pounce. My keyboarding skills are marginal at best (you try typing without opposable thumbs), but I don’t give up easily. My intent is to provide a cat’s eye view of the world.

I came across this blog via meno’s site. this is a great blog! we live in a house owned by 7 cats. we are lucky and blessed that they allow us to cohabit with them, although I’m pretty sure that if they could purchase their own food and change their litter boxes, we would be homeless. they love us, though, so maybe that’s the biggest reason we are permitted to stay.
I can’t wait to read the rest of your posts!

Thanks for visiting, hockamama. Even if I were motivated to do the food shopping myself, it would never work (car sickness is not for pussies). I plan on allowing my people to stay on as staff, since am am firm believer in rewarding loyalty.
